What crime did these children commit?

Police and witnesses said 11 members of one family were killed in a U.S. raid overnight in Ishaqi. The Americans said two women and a child died as troops arrested an al Qaeda militant.

Autopsies on the bodies including five children, showed they had been shot in the head. Not even one of those children was old enough to go to school yet. Here is what the Americans have to say for themselves:

"Troops were engaged by enemy fire as they approached the building, coalition Forces returned fire utilising both air and ground assets.

"There was one enemy killed. Two women and one child were also killed in the firefight. The building ... (was) destroyed."
Major Tim Keefe went on to say that the al Qaeda suspect had been captured.

This is what happened according to police and witnesses:

  1. U.S. forces landed on the roof of the house looking for somebody they suspect of being in al-Qaeda.

  2. The occupants hands were bound by the soldiers and they were dumped in one room.

  3. Then the American soldiers shot the 11 occupants in the head.

  4. Then the American soldiers destroyed the house.

So the crime these children committed was to be related to someone who American soldiers suspected of being a terrorist. (I'm sure that after he's been tortured he'll "confess" it doesn't matter whether he was a terrorist or not.)

The fact that those American soldiers have no right to be in those children's country is irrelevant. They are there now and they will do what they like to whom they like. It's not as if Iraqis are human beings after all. Those children were guilty of being Iraqi and unable to defend themselves in the brutal barbaric illegal and racist war being waged against their people by the current American government.
